My new winter boots! ^^
The announcement I made for our toilet... hahaha... to prevent guests come and clog our toilet
| It's 4 days before Christmas, and last night around 9pm it started to snow in Tianjin. And quite a heavy snooow! By morning when we were heading to church, the snow was about 7cm thick.
Last night me, my sis, my bro, and a few friends went out in the late evening to play with the snow and take pictures. I didn't expect it to be that cold, but apparently it was quite cold. At least for me. Only in about an hour, my toes and fingers felt painful and rather numb though I had worn my gloves and boots. My sister seemed to be fine even just with snickers and gloves. So I told the rest of the gang that I will head home, because it's past midnight already, my jacket was starting to get wet from the snow, and my toes hurt. My sister and brother chose to go home too.
And this morning when we were going out for church, I can feel my toes and fingers started to get cold quite fast. Especially since today the wind is really really really big. It feels like the snow, blown by the wind, sliced your skin. Really cold and painful.
I'm starting to change my minds about living overseas in the Western countries. I used to think it would be nice to live in a 4-season country. But now seeing how much I dislike the cold, I think I would choose to live in a tropical country. Maybe I'll go to Western country just for holiday, but not really to live there. These days I really cannot stand the cold.
Now I'm really thinking twice of our plans to go to Harbin in January. Today the temp was about -10 and I already felt numb. I cannot imagine now if I go to Harbin, how much socks and gloves do I need to wear? Harbin is about -30 to -40. I really want to see the Ice Festival, but I doubt my resistance. Can I really stand the cold there? Haizzz... zenmeban?
If I think about it, when I was in the states, the temp would go lower than this, and it snows heavier than this, but I don't think I'm suffering as much as I do now. I'm not too sure why.... maybe there are several factors that contribute to this:
1. I have been living in Singapore for 2 years. So maybe my body has adapted to tropical climate. But I stayed in the states for about 4 years, so shouldn't I still be ok in cold weather?
2. I was younger then. Well, eventhough not much, but I was on my early twenties when I was in the states. Now I'm starting to enter my late twenties I guess. Hahaha... Is that a reasonable excuse?
3. I was "heavier" then. Hahaha... I was about 5-6kg heavier when I was in the states due to all the cheese and fattening stuff there. And I started to lose the extra fats when I was in Singapore :)
4. Or maybe it's because of all the outside factors, like the extremely big wind? Or the fact that I used to have a car and take bus... maybe because I have to walk more here so it feels colder. Or maybe because the buildings here don't give much heat as in the states...
Mmmm, or maybe all of the above? Hahahha... what do you think?

| Long long time ago, lived many giants in China. They live in cities and do things like normal people, go to school, go to work, shop, do housework, etc.
One day, six of these giants decided to have a kimbab-sushi party. So they picked a really WINDY cold day to have this party. They bought the ingredients and gathered at one house to start the party. Unfortunately one of the male giants fell sick and could not come, so they got a female one (with no less strength) to come to the party.
They worked hard to prepare all the materials. From cutting, chopping, frying, mixing, and sometimes sneakily eating what they are cutting -_-" One hour later, they gathered in the living room to start rolling the sushi. The giant leader, called Mother Goose, was chosen to make the first roll. She used her expertise and experience and strength to roll. The result was beautiful. They chopped the roll into pieces and everybody ate.
The second person is the Korean-wannabe-giant. With his cool Korean hat, he professionally rolled the sushi. The shape was not bad, and tasted good. Well all the rolls should tasted good, since the inside were all the same. Haha.
The third person to roll is the youngest giant. She so excitedly wanted to roll. She rolled and rolled, and was so happy with the result that she lifted up the roll while shouting "Yeayy!" while the other giants screamed (afraid the inside may come out, as the the carrots and cucumbers hung from both sides of the roll).
The fourth person is the innocent giant. She rolled and it seemed like the roll was ok. Then when everybody wanted to eat, Mother Goose offered the soy sauce (which she had unknowingly mixed with wasabi paste). Mother Goose, Korean-wannabe, and innocent giants were the first three that dipped their sushi into the soy sauce bowl.
And the result is, Mother Goose and Innocent giant both were coughing like crazy. Innocent giant was even tearing because of how strong the wasabi. Korean-wannabe was not spared. After he ate, he just leaned on the wall, crouching, trying to gain his composure (somehow he looked like a drug-overdosed giant). Hahaha...
It took a few minutes for us to get back to normal. And after that they continued the party happily. The fifth person is the Big brother giant, he rolled slowly and with strength. He really liked to eat rice, so certainly his sushi was big filled with rice. Shape was a bit off, but acceptable.
The sixth person is the new-comer giant. She prepared things slowly and carefully so as not to mess it up. And the result was quite good too. Afterward, they tried to do different ways of rolling. The Korean-wannabe tried rolling the stuffing at the bottom with rice on top. The innocent girl made the roll with stuffing between two sides of rice, till the rolls was bulging huge!
And the funniest thing was when Mother Goose made her roll too big, til the rice and stuffing came out from the roll. Then she screamed, "It's coming out, it's coming out!" And innocent giant tried to help by pushing the stuffing back inside while screaming, "Push! Push! Push!" Somehow the scene changed from a sushi-party to like a labor-room situation. And everybody just laughed hysterically... It was really something.
At the end of the day, they finished 2 rice cookers of rice and felt overly full. They are giants indeed. And then they just remember that they forgot to take pictures of the sushi that they rolled. Everybody was too busy eating and laughing that they forget. The only thing left was 2 broken piece of sushi and 1 roll of sushi, supposedly to be given to the Sick giant. But anyway, everybody had a wonderful time! :)

| Been a two-month absence from blogging. Haha... I guess I don't have as much free time as I used to. These days whenever I have free time, I wasted it more on playing Facebook or watching Korean drama online. Hahaha... I'm still on the 13th episode of My Girl. Quite funny and interesting story :p
Today I can blog because I don't need to clean the house. Hahaha... The reason is, One, my sister cleaned most of the stuff on the table already. Two, I don't need to sweep or mop because the bible study this week has been moved to a different location. Thus, I don't need to do that extensive of a cleaning. Just consider it my weekend off... LOL because usually every Saturday is our cleaning day to welcome the guests :D
The weather here has been quite cold, lots of winds, but no snow. I've catched cold a couple of days ago... now recovering slowly. And I also have another disease due to the cold weather. It is called Chilblain. Basically it's like an ulcer (sariawan) to your extremities (e.g. toes, fingers) because of the sudden change of temperature. At first I didn't know such disease exists, and didn't know that I have it.
It started a few months ago, when our toilet was clogged, and we could not use it to shower, pee, or anything at all. So that day, me and my bro went to the dorm about 10 mins away from my house to take a shower. And me, being a lazy-typical-Indo-person-who-likes- to-wear-sandal, didn't wear shoes. I just wore my sandals and walked to the dorm. My feet did feel really cooooldd but I didn't think much of it, so when I took a shower, I just ran the hot water and enjoy the warm shower. Then went back home with the same sandals, with my toes suffering from the cold air again.
As the result, a couple of days afterwards, my toes became red and kinda swollen a bit. It hurts if I accidentally bump into something, or if I press it hard. And sometimes there's a certain itchyness. I thought at first there's fungus on my toes maybe because I had to disinfect our toilet after it was fixed (aka. cleaning all the nasty things that came out from the gutter and the toilet bowl). Or maybe a bug bite coz it was itchy. I used anti-septic soap and used itch medication, all with just temporary effects. My toes were still red, and there are some small patches. Sometimes they itched like crazy. This went on for weeks, until the other day, I googled about itchy toes, then I know what it is. Duh! Should have done this earlier.
Now at least I know what it is and there are solutions on how to treat it. I used to walk around the house with sandals and open toes. Now I wear socks to keep my toes warm. And I everytime my toes get cold from going outside, I will warm it out slowly, and not just use hot water because the extreme temperature will make it worse. These past few days I see improvement already. My toes has not been itchy at all, and the redness and swelling has subsided slowly. They do still have some red patches, but I think they can disappear once my toes fully recover. Hehehe...
Well, this is one of my story being in a foreign country. Really unique I should say, I never experienced such a thing, even during winter in US :p Well, at least now I know what to advise if somebody got Chilblain. LOL
| ζθ§εΎζδ»εΉ΄ηηζ₯ηΉε«ε₯ζͺγ This year I had 4 early birthday celebration, but no celebration on the birthday day itself. Hahahahaha....
First celebration was about 2 months ago, in August, on my last day of work. My colleagues threw me a small birthday party with cake and candles. I told them it's way tooo early, but they insisted. So that was my first party.
Second celebration was one month early. In beginning of Oct when Ming, my sis, and I went on vacation to Beijing, we also celebrated my birthday. It was a sweet private party we had at the hotel with self-created-supposed-to-be-cake. Hahaha... We celebrated my sis' birthday too which falls on 7 Oct :p So kill 2 mosquito with one smack (terjemahan ngawur... hahaha).
Third celebration was 3 days early. My classmates bought me a birthday cake during our house-warming. So this one was quite a crowded party with 20+ people including ζε¦Ήε¦Ήηεε¦εζηθεΈ :p It was fun. Hehehe....
Forth celebration was 1 night early. My lil sweet (and noisy) sis bought me a small cake. She gave it to me early because she was afraid she could not keep the cake hidden from me. So the two of us celebrated my bday at home.
And on Monday, on the birthday day itself. No more celebration. Hahahahhaha... I think it's "basi" already. LOLOL. I don't expect anymore celebration sih... I get too many early celebrations that I'm afraid I may get old early. Hahahaha....
Anyhow, thank you for all of you guys, my wonderful friends, family, and loved one, who remember my birthday and make the time to give me things, buy me cake, call and sms me, or even just wish me happy birthday on FB/FS. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness :)
